Compassion wins for a change

Governor Charles Crist, a Republican, of Florida went the distance and granted a pardon to Richard Paey, a man who had been convicted of felony drug trafficking for taking drugs to treat pain resulting from a car crash and multiple sclerosis. Governor Crist took this action against the recommendation of his own states parole board. It was an action that went beyond the families wildest hopes.

I can only admire this courageous and compassionate action. It's the kind of action that could save the Republican party from it's own self righteousness. It's tinged with justice and a have heard hardly a word in the mega news business. I guess it was preempted by a Britney Spears newsflash.

God bless the Governor. I'd vote for him if I could, twice!
