A Hazy Shade of Winter

Weather brought to you by God.

Words and Music brought to you by Paul Simon

Performed by Simon and Garfunkle

with a sound borrowed from the Everly Brothers.

Paul Simon cranked out more gems in the 60's than any except maybe Lennon and McCartney. The recent weather reminded me of this song, but I had forgotten how great the lyrics were to this lesser known song.

My favorite stanzas

Hang on to your hopes my friend

That's an easy thing to say,

but if your hopes should pass away,

Simply pretend...

That you can build them again

Look around,

Grass is high

Fields are ripe

It's the Springtime

of my Life

If you've never heard this, listen, learn and enjoy
