Susan Boyle - Les Miserables [HQ] Episode 1 Britains Got Talent 2009
New York Daily News:
The greatest performance in ... TV history?
Malachite Kingfisher Apr 14, 2009 10:20:43 AM comment on NYDN captures it perfectly.:
Many, many things to love about Ms. Boyle: The gift of her voice. Her mastery of that song. (Good luck finding a better rendition. I've looked.) Her making the most of this belated opportunity. And the audience's, and judges', emotional identification with her the moment they hear her sing. As if these things weren't enough, the British press reports that Ms. Boyle has a learning disability and has been bullied all her life. At the risk of being shallowly sentimental, I'm going to hold onto the feeling this performance has given me--the vicarious thrill and the twinge of shame--and remember Susan Boyle whenever I'm tempted to judge someone whose story I don't know. Oh, and I'll buy her MP3 of "I Dreamed a Dream" as soon as it comes out.

I suspect Simon will sign her to a recording contract straight away. I know I will buy it! Her voice is amazing. I hope all her dreams come true!I suspect Simon will sign her to a recording contract straight away. I know I will buy it! Her voice is amazing. I hope all her dreams come true!
