Friday Night In the Big City

The whistle has blown and Fred Flinstone long since gone home to see Wilma, Pebbles and Dino. He and Barney are knocking off a few brews on the back porch and the stars are rising over Bedrock. Yabba Dabba Doo!

Here in Richmond, all goes well. Youth and near youth are partying down on Brown's Island without me. Melvin Seals and the JGB(not JGF)are jammin their hearts out and with a little pharmacuetical help I'd be there with them, but I prefer to get my fun legally and safely, so this reporter is staying home.

Over on big bad Broad Street families are doing what they should do, bringing their kids downtown and having a family treat at Theatre IV. While Annie is not my thing, watching bright eyed little girls and boys walk the streets of Richmond with Mom and Dad brings a smile to my face. While one wag I know says families won't come downtown, I know different. So if you are still at home on a Friday Night, "turn off the TV, throw away your paper" and come to the city, on your own.
